5th Grade Health Education Information Letter
Dear 5th Grade Families, In partnerships with families, our MMSD Health Education curriculum aims to help students build the knowledge and skills necessary to promote and obtain optimal mental, emotional, social, and physical health and well-being. In fifth-grade Health Education, students learn how to make safe, healthy choices that support their physical, emotional, and social well-being. They practice communication, refusal, boundary-setting, and conflict-resolution skills while also exploring how family, peers, media, and the environment influence health. Students strengthen decision-making by comparing options, reflecting on outcomes, and setting goals to support lifelong wellness. They also develop advocacy skills to advocate for their health, seek reliable information, and utilize resources to support themselves and their communities.
